When these settings are done it usually takes around 1-4h before the information about the changes has reached other internet service providers. Then you can change the address in the shop administration on the Self Provision > Domain name page. Or if you have a MyVilkas account, add the domain for the shop directly to MyVilkas as follows:
- Log in to MyVilkas
- From the start page, click on your store name.
- Click the "Domain Settings" button at the bottom of the page.
- If you have ordered the domain from Vilkas, it is available to select from the list. If the domain is registered with another provider, select "Other domain registrar" and fill in the domain name in the field.
If you also use email addresses for the domain in the shop it could be good to ask your provider to also add a Sender Policy Framework (SPF) include "include:_spf.vilkas.shop" for the domain.

If you don't have a domain yet you can order it from us or from any domain provider. To order the domain from us you must have first confirmed the order of your Vilkas webshop.
Shop with a subdomain
If you want to keep your website separate from your online shop, a popular way to solve this is to create a subdomain for your shop. You would then choose a prefix for the domain so that the shop address would be for example "shop.domain.com" while the website remains at the address "www.domain.com". The subdomain then needs to have a CNAME record towards the address secure.vilkasgroup.com.

Several domains for the shop
Only one main domain can be used for the online shop that shows in the address field. If you want several domains or subdomains to point to your online shop it's possible with an HTTP 301 or 302 redirect towards the shop's main domain. In this case, the visitors to the other domains will also be directed to the shop but the main domain will show in the address field.
If the domain host cannot execute an HTTP 301 or 302 redirect, the direction can be made with an A-record to the IP number 89.250.61.18. Once the domain provider has done the redirection, let us know and we'll take care of the redirection to your shop. The charge for these extra domain redirections is 55 euros (excl. VAT).
